Ferrari consistent
Sebastian Vettel is doing rather consistent lap times on the medium compound. He started with a 1:30.6, followed by a 1:29.6, 1:29.6, 1:29.8, 1:29.8, 1:29.8, 1:30.0, 1:30.2, 1:30.0 and 1:30.5.

BEN ANDERSON: "Spent some of the morning watching the cars trackside.

"The Mercedes looks a joy to drive, smothered in grip, and the Williams is also impressive - much more consistent and stable at the rear than last year's car.

"The Ferrari wasn't turning in well at low speed, and couldn't carry the same momentum through Turn 3 as the Mercedes, but Vettel was on long runs, so it's possible the car was simply fat with fuel.

"Didn't see much of the Red Bull, but the 'new' Toro Rosso looked decent in Verstappen's hands. He was fighting to control some wheelspin exiting the slower corners, but looked very neat otherwise.

"The Lotus and the Sauber both look tough to drive. Maldonado and Nasr were both fighting the wheel mid-corner and Maldonado particularly was struggling to be consistent through turns one, two and three.

"It was good to see Button rack up some decent laps in the McLaren-Honda. The chassis looks good, but the fact it turns in very well may be accentuated by the engine not running at full power yet.

"The Honda still sounds unrefined compared to the others out there, so (unsurprisingly) plenty of work still to do."

The second day of testing at the Catalan circuit sees Sebastian Vettel at the wheel of the SF15-T. The weather is definitely better today and that has allowed the team to make good progress with its programme. Today, Scuderia Ferrari has been concentrating on aerodynamic tests and long runs. Vettel also set the third best time this morning in 1:25.339, completing 69 laps. The team will be back in action this afternoon.

David Croft has been watching the morning session from trackside and observing which cars are looking good and who still has room for improvement before Melbourne:

“Standing trackside the Mercedes looks fantastic. If you looked at the cars without liveries the Mercedes would just stand out.

“The McLaren-Honda is slow as they are just trying to get laps on the board. The McLaren changes direction well, but it is just doing it slowly. But what a great morning it has been for them getting 44 laps on the board.

“The front of the Ferrari looks good on turn in – it really did look responsive and as if the front end was doing what Vettel wanted, without him having to ask it again. But it still looks slower than the Mercedes.

“Verstappen looked confident and was going right to the limits of the track, but the Toro Rosso really does seem to have a lack of grip.

“The Sauber has been out there a lot – they have got a lot of miles under their belts which is what they needed. It’s not that it looks a slow car, but it just doesn’t look impressive and not something that looks impressive in race pace.”

Dobar stint JB-a, s obzirom da vozi u safe modu. Williams oko pola sekunde iza Mercedesa, ostali više. To je moja prognoza.

Ja se ne bi zaletio toliko, pola sekunde je već velik zaostatak. Red Bull i Ferrari su tu negdje, čini mi se da se malo šuljaju.

Fino se razvedrilo - kraj testova danas bi mogao biti zanimljiv
