Nisu oni znali da će Renault imati blago rečeno katastrofu... Sve je tada izgledalo fino i super za RB, nije bilo ni riječi od odlasku Neweya ni dolasku Ricciarda, a Vettel je upravo pobijedio Alonsa kojeg je njegov Ferrari izdao bezbroj puta u toj sezoni. Meni je i dalje teško povjerovati u tu priču

Jedno je čvrsto željeti a drugo je realnost. Realnost je da je 2008. godine počela priča o nemotiviranom Kimiju i dolasku Alonsa u Ferrari. Realnost je da Alonso 2010. godine došao u Ferrari. Realnost je da su Kubica i Hulkenberg imali predugovor sa Ferrarijem (sigurno ne na njihovu inicijativu...), a ne Vettel. Realnost je da je RB (H. Realnost je da Vettel nikad ne bi ranije prešao u Ferrari da ugovorom čvrsto nije bio vezan za Red Bull i da nije imao odlično složenu ekipu s kojom je na kraju krajeva osvojio naslove.
Ne slažem se s ovime da je već početkom 2014. godine odlučio otići iz RB-a. Realnost je ono što je rekao Arrivabene, Marchione i sam Vettel, a to je da su prvi razgovori oko prelaska u Ferrari i potpis ugovora obavljeni oko Sochija a prije Japana.
Ovo sve prije toga su uvijek bili samo razgovori, dok su neki drugi imali konkretne predugovore (a opet na kraju krajeva ništa). Jer ako je Vettel stvarno toliko htio preći u Ferrari, a bio je u Maranellu, zašto nije potpisao taj predugovor? ili 2010? ili 2008?

I wouldn’t say difficult. We always respected each other, and as team mates we brought results to Red Bull, knowing that both of us are great workers and we have a similar driving style. On a personal side, things were different we had difficulties in races , crashes that should have not happened like in Turkey 2010 or Malaysia 2013 . Things that didn’t helped at all. Today I’m not his best friend and he is not mine. When last year he crashed with the Porsche I suddenly sent him a message to see if he was ok and he was ok. We could even have a lunch together.

It’s hard to say how much strong we are. You have to be patient. But the car is obviously good, Kimi and I are both happy. Ferrari is a team that has changed a lot since last year. We need time to melt but soon or later we ‘ll be there

The surprise arrives at the end of the interview, when after the last glass of water, Vettel shakes your hand and say "Thanks see you soon" in a perfect italian . How it comes? Do you already speak italian ? He smiles "I understand it well, but not enough to answer during interviews" . It’s the dream of how the 4th time world champion immersed himself in the Ferrari adventure with enthusiasm, humility, desire to integate immediately. He did it in other ways too, reading magazines and books about the Ferrari myth, because Vettel loves the stoy and he bought himself a Ferrari, in previous years, before he received the offer to become Ferrari driver. Smart, curios and genuinely ironic and funny, Vettel decided to restart from zero with a Ferrari arriving from poor seasons, like if his four titles belonged to another life.
Even if it’s not so, his true carrier starts from Ferrari. Just like, at 27 years old, did Schumacher. Schumi brought with him the whole Benetton team with him, Vettel arrives alone, deciding in 1st person economic details, limits, freedoms, clause to stay or to go. Lauda thinks that there will be "Vettel effect" at Ferrari if the car is strong but he's sure that also Kimi will go along, like at Mercedes 2 drivers who will push each other. Mercedes will have to watch out. generally he expects a third or 4th driver fighting for championship.

Vettel is fully integrated into the team, he's 120% part of the family. Arrivabene: Vettel is super professional. When I see him working I sometimes feel emotional, as he reminds me of another German [Schumacher]. He's also a funny guy.
